Disaster Recovery Documents and Resources for Audiovisual Materials

First Actions

Immediate initial response steps after a disaster for film, tapes, and discs.

Disaster Planning and Recovery

Chapter dedicated to outlining the primary components of a disaster plan, the composition and roles of the disaster action team (DAT) and finally to offer some suggestions for dealing with mould and insect infestation which can occur in the aftermath of a disaster.

Disaster Handbook

Covers prevention, water damage, fire damage, storage vault destruction, long term issues, and has a list of questions to assist with developing a disaster plan.

Not film specific, but addresses steps to take in situations in which air-borne contaminants in the atmosphere can potentially impact archival repositories.
